Regions to be awarded for good governance
The Home Affairs Ministry will award three provinces and six regencies and cities for their achievements in establishing effective services for issuing licenses, the Ministry’s Regional Development Director General Jiman Mudiman Saroso said Wednesday.
The provinces are West Java, Central Java and East Java, while the regencies and cities include Sragen in Central Java, Pare Pare in South Sulawesi, Balikpapan in East Kalimantan and Solok in West Sumatra.
“They deserve this recognition for being the pioneers in setting up one-stop services for the public in license issuance to make services effective,” Jiman was quoted as saying by Antara news wire.
Indonesia is widely perceived to be one of the most corrupt nations in the world, with a complicated bureaucracy and rampant bribery.
