Taman Safari Indonesia full of holiday makers
Taman Safari Indonesia in Cisarua, West Java, has remained one of the popular spots to visit by Idul Fitr holiday makers.
During the Islamic Ramadhan fasting period, the number of visitors to the animal park dropped by as much as 80 percent but on Wednesday, the second day of Idul Fitri, it was teeming with people.
“The number of visitors has steadily increased since October 21 to reach up to 15,000 per day,” the park`s spokesman, Yulius Suprihardo, told ANTARA News.
He said the number of visitors this year also increased by around 20 percent compared to last year. “The number of visitors last year dropped due to the bird-flu scare and the hike in fuel oil prices,” he said.
Marno, a visitor from Cengkareng, West Jakarta, said he was no longer afraid to visit the park.
The park is sitiuated on 140 hectares of land and functions s the habitat of around 2,500 animal species.(*)
