Jogja City

A few years ago - until now - Jogjakarta has a nickname as a “bicycle city” but recently the name has changed in to a “motorcycle city”. If you visit this city the best way going to some places in a fast move is by riding motorcycle. this small agile vehicle fills more than 75% of vehicle population in Jogjakarta. You can rent the motor cycle for a day and you can save the time to go anywhere. well, of course you must have driving licence, wear standard helmet and another savety gears also obey the traffic regulation. if not the police officer will give you the ticket.

Jogjakarta today well known as crowded small city with about 40 universities and colleges. most of the students are come from outside the region. Jogjakarta is famous of its education institutions which atract the students all over the country to gain their knowledge in this place. Some of the students did not come back to their hometown because they had got a job in this city. The streets in this city are short and narrow, with those amount of universities and hundreds of offices you can imagine the condition in the rush hours.

One of my friend said that if he went to the office with his car, he could spent about 45 minutes driving in the crowded streets, but when he went with motorcycle, he spent less than 15 minutes. In common, the motorcycle sold in Indonesia are made in Japan, with various size and type from the small 100cc until the 250cc (you will be difficult to find the bigger one). They’re cheap, reliable, easy to maintain and economics. The last one is the reason why many people prefer to buy motorcycle. With the increase of world’s oil price many poeple change their traveling behaviour, because with the latest 125cc’s motorcycle you only spend 1 litre of gasoline for more than 90 kilometres. the small size also help you to slip between the car in the heavy traffic. The only minor is you will get hot in the sunny day and totally wet when come the rain.
