UPACARA CING-CING GOLING
Gunungkidul regency has a unique tradition called tradisi Cing Cing Goling. It held every year in Desa Gedangrejo Kecamatan Karangmojo on the Kebo Gawang river bank under the sacred big tree. This ceremony was started 16 centuries ago using many kinds of offerings esspecially whole chicken, and animal head for example goat.
every family also gives the best meal for the ceremony offerings. After the ceremony the offering will be given for all the spectators and they eat together in that place. They believe that if they eat those offerings they will get a good luck and the poeple who give the offering will have a better life and prosperity.
